Staying Connected While exercising Social Distancing
Google Hangout Meets
Being in a situation where we cannot meet in person leads us to find other ways to stay connected. For those with internet access, we hope to use Google Hangout Meets to host some of our meetings and get-togethers, for example our Lenten Bible Study.
If you are on our contact list, you should receive a link to any upcoming meetings. If you think you are not on our contact list, you can register to receive updates by filling the form here https://naasunion.com/keep-in-touch/. If your email address is a gmail based address, it should be relatively straight-forward to access the online meeting:
- Click the link you receive by text or email.
- If it is the first time you are using Hangouts, your device may download an app at this point.
- You will then be directed to the meeting page and you should click the button that says Ask to Join.
- The meeting host will admit you to the meeting.
If your email address is not compatible with Google, you could try clicking Join and use a phone for audio then follow the instructions you see on screen.
The meeting link will be active when you receive it, so in the days before the event you wish to join, you can test your setup and make sure you can get to the page with the Ask to Join button. If you run into trouble, please contact Lisa (details below), who will try to help you out.
